Gino Pozzo was born in 1978 in Vicenza and is the managing director of the sports investment group Hornets New CO LTD, which owns Watford Football Club. In addition, he is also the legal owner of the club as the sole director of Hornets New CO LTD.

In August 2014, Gino Pozzo acquired a majority stake in Watford Football Club and became its chairman. A year later, in August 2015, he bought all remaining shares from former chairman Graham Taylor and his family trust. To finance this acquisition, Gino Pozzo created an investment vehicle called Hornets New CO LTD with two other investors who became the minority shareholders of the company: Marco and Nicola Garrone, sons of Vincenzo Garrone.

With this transaction completed, Gino Pozzo became the sole director of Hornets New CO LTD and remains so until today. The investments made by Gino during his tenure as chairman involved new players such as striker Okaka from Anderlecht (for £6 million), midfielder Success from Real Betis (for £12 million), winger Isaac Success from RC Deportivo la Coruna (for £12 million) or goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis from Getafe (on loan).

The management contract with former coach Walter Mazzarri was terminated on October 31st, 2016, due to differences over how to develop the team; indeed, Mazzarri wanted to reinvest some transfer funds into new players, whereas he wished to keep the players that were already at the club. The club then appointed former Watford player Marco Silva as the new head coach for the rest of the season.

However, this appointment was not a success, and at the end of May 2017, Marco Silva was dismissed from his position after having been in charge for six months. On June 13th, 2017, Watford announced that former manager Quique Sanchez Flores would return to the club as head coach for the next two seasons.
