John Ritenour is a renowned insurance expert who has been in the industry for more than three decades. The prominent life insurance professional got his roots in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, were born and raised in the 1950s. Ritenour is married to Valli, whom he met after completing high school. He is a family man and a grandfather. He accumulated his wealth, from scratch through hard work and dedication—his childhood wasn’t smooth.

Ritenour began his career back in the 1960s in a local steel mill. He worked there for almost ten years before moving to his elder brother’s bakery in the 1970s. While serving at the bakery, he changed his career interests and ventured into the insurance world; a decision that was greatly influenced by the birth of his son, Heath, in 1976. As an ambitious person, John relocated to Florida, to expand his insurance business by taking advantage of the city’s opportunities.

This celebrated insurance expert participated in different sporting activities, including basketball, baseball, and football, during his active years. His resilience and hard work made him established the Insurance Office of Florida (IOF) in 1988 and later rebranded it to the Insurance Office of America (IOA). John Ritenour served as the company’s chief executive officer for twelve years before appointing his son to take over him.

The ambitious business entrepreneur also served as the chairman of the company until 2018, when he resigned. John Ritenour currently engages in charitable activities through the IOA Corporate 5k that is helped change many lives. The generous foundation gains support from Florida locals who refer to it as Orlando’s largest office party. Apart from dedicating much time to his family, John Ritenour spends his leisure time practicing golf.
